Eckhart Library Foundation
The Eckhart Library Foundation, Inc., is a 501C3 nonprofit, public benefit corporation. Established March 20, 2018, the foundation’s purpose is to raise money and restore and rebuild the Historic Main Building of the Eckhart Public Library, as well as to support its future operation.
This organization was formed in response to the July 2017 arson fire that left the main building of the library with significant damage and loss. Though an insurance reimbursement was provided after the fire, the money still needed to revitalize the main library is significant. This foundation was formed as a pathway to write grant proposals and hold community fundraising throughout DeKalb County.
