Celebrating the Life of Dr. Leasure

Dr. Leasure also played a key role in the founding of the public library in Auburn and the erection of the Eckhart Public Library. She was a popular public persona in the community, taking an active role in the Women's Christian Temperance Union and literary circles. She was also a published author, poet and speaker. The DeKalb County Historian, John Bry, has located the modern day descendants of this remarkable and honorable woman. Join the library in welcoming the Leasure family back to Auburn and celebrate the life and accomplishments of Dr. Lida Leasure. Local history lovers will want to attend this special event.
